Who we are

We are Benign Social Impact

We are a non-profit organization that is led by female entrepreneurs, with the mission of promoting gender equality and providing a positive social impact. Our goal is to empower women and girls around the world by providing resources and support to those who are marginalized and creating a safe space for them to learn, grow, and succeed. We are dedicated to ending violence against the girl child and making sure that all girls have equal access to education and the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through our work, we hope to build a more equitable and just society where everyone can reach their dreams.

WHY PARTNER WITH US

Partnering with our organisation, you will be supporting a cause that has the power to transform the lives of vulnerable children. We provide these children with access to quality education and the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge that could help them break the cycle of poverty they are born into.

Your donation will help us provide essential learning materials and resources to the children, as well as support the teachers and other staff who are dedicated to their education. By partnering with us, you will be helping us create a brighter future for these children, and we would be honoured to have your support.

Our Partners

ZAMBIA CANCER SOCIETY

We are delighted to have received a donation of 100 uniforms from the Zambia Cancer Society to promote access to quality education for vulnerable children. These uniforms were given to children who are unable to afford the necessary clothing and school supplies on their own. We are so thankful for the generous donation, which ensured that these children have the opportunity to attend school and receive a quality education.

BIC ZAMBIA

BIC Zambia recently donated educational materials and stationery to an education center to promote access to quality education. This generous donation provides students with the tools they need to learn, such as pens, pencils, paper, and other writing supplies. Additionally, these resources can help reduce the financial burden of school supplies for families in the community. We are very grateful for BIC Zambia’s commitment to supporting quality education and applaud their generous donation.

CARE4US NORWAY

  • Covid Response

Our organisation is proud to have teamed up with the Zikomo Charitable Trust to provide essential food and supplies to 500 families who have been adversely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. This project was initiated to help those who have lost their jobs or experienced financial hardship due to the pandemic. Our team has been working hard to ensure that the families receive the supplies they need to help them get through these difficult times. We have been collecting donations from various sources and distributing them to families in need. In addition, we have been providing advice and guidance to the families on how to access other forms of assistance that may be available to them. We are proud to be part of this project and believe it is a great way to help those in need during these unprecedented times.

  • Community Education Centre

Our organisation has been working in collaboration with Care4us Norway since 2019. This partnership has enabled us to provide quality education to 250 vulnerable children in our community. Care4us has generously provided the necessary funding for our teacher’s salaries, the school feeding program, and even the school building project. For four years, they have supported our community education centre by providing salaries for three teachers, which has had an amazing impact on the quality of education available. This collaboration has given us access to Care4us’ resources and allowed us to increase access to quality education in our community.

Zambia Open Community Schools (ZOCS)

We collaborated with ZOCS our Sisters Keeper campaign menstrual hygiene campaign aimed at keeping girls in school. We have 600 sanitary pads and worked with ZOCS in identifying community schools in Lusaka’s rural areas. Together we were able to provide a year’s worth of sanitary pads to 50 vulnerable girls, 25 from Sekelela Community school and 25 from Bissell Community School in Lusaka West. Our project ensured that the 50 girls had access to quality education by not having to miss class due to a lack of sanitary pads thereby guaranteeing better performance in school. This program not only allows girls to stay in school and complete their education but also provides them with a sense of dignity and comfort.

LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL

In 2017, we had the privilege to work with the Lion’s club international foundation, through the Lions Club of Luangwa. The club worked with us in providing 60 pairs of school shoes to all vulnerable children at our community Education centre at the time. In addition, our school feeding program was launched after a donation of 10 bags of mealie meal and beans was donated by the club. The impact of this collaboration was that all the children that were missing classes during the rainy season because of the lack of shoes were able to attend classes. The school feeding program had a great impact on the attendance and performance of the children, furthermore, we had more children interested in enrolling into our education centre as they would be guaranteed access to free quality education and a meal every day.

NKANA WATER AND SEWERAGE COMPANY

We trained 20 girls and 5 home economics teachers in the production of 200 reusable sanitary pads, which were donated to 100 girls in the Chipata compound. This project has had a tremendous impact on girl child education, reducing the economic burden on families and enabling girls to stay in school during their menstrual cycle. This has been shown to improve girls’ academic performance, as well as their overall well-being and self-esteem. We are proud to have made a lasting difference in the lives of these girls and their communities and look forward to seeing the positive effects our project continues to make.

FORUM FOR ZAMBIA WOMEN ACCOUNTANTS AND ZICA

We had the pleasure to work with Mwekera Combined School in partnership with Forum for Zambia Women Accountants (FZWA) and Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) to run an incredible two-day project to provide sustainable and affordable menstrual hygiene support to the school’s students. The project provided 150 girls with training on menstrual health, hygiene, and preparedness, along with the production and donation of 300 reusable sanitary pads to 155 girls. This was a great success, as it gave the girls the opportunity to create their sanitary pads and to learn about their menstrual health, enabling them to make well-informed decisions about their sexual reproductive health and rights and girl child education.
